Abilities To Be Developed

Below are two of the abilities that I should develop as a computing student and I should aim to acquire during my course:

1. Exhibit practical and transferable skills, including relevant approaches to group activity
  •  The statement speaks for itself. What I aim to achieve during my course is the skills to implement and demonstrate the concepts or the knowledge I have, in a practical way. And another thing that I've prioritized highly is gaining transferable skills, as in skills that can be used in different times and places. And possessing different skills to make a positive impact while being involved in a group activity, is one of its examples.

2. Deploy appropriate theory, practices and tools to analyse, specify, design, implement and evaluate computer- based systems, including trade-offs and quality attributes of a chosen solution
  • As a computing student, not only do I want to enhance my coding skills, but also the creativity to use all the skills I have in the best possible way. I some day wish to be good enough to make the best decisions in every aspect to minimize the effects of trade-off, be it implementing the most appropriate theory, using the most appropriate tools and designs, and so on.

Personality Test

My personality type: "Determined Realist"

Loyal and hard-working. Like to be in charge. Exceptionally capable in organizing and running activities. "Good citizens" who value security and peaceful living.

Careers that could fit me include:
Military, business administrators, managers, police/detective work, judges, financial officers, teachers, sales representatives, government workers, insurance agents, underwriters, nursing administrators, trade and technical teachers.

 My response to the outcome:
Well, the outcome isn't so different from what i expected it to be. It does justify the perception I had of myself. The personality-meter-bar and personality test that it  displayed is spot on. I was kind of surprised to see it be so accurate. However, the same couldn't be said about the last part. I was expecting people who are/were CEO of some major company to be on the list of renowned persons with similar personality types. So, to be honest, I was a bit disappointed to see a whole different kind of people in that list.

My views towards the personality-meter-bar section:
This particular section is what I found to be most accurate after going through the test result. Apart from the part where it showed me to be a lot more judging than perceiving, everything else is so much accurate. I sure am more extroverted than introverted. I've always preferred spending time with a group of people over spending my time alone, thinking about some weird stuff.

I'm a person who's always more conscious about the small details and present situations.  And well, it did accurately show me to be a sensing person.

The third part where it showed me to be more thinking over feeling is spot on as well. I never go with my heart, but with my brain. That's a rule I've set for myself, which I always follow.

The last part is what puzzled me. I sure am judging alright, and I won't complain about that. But I wouldn't call myself to be so much of a judging person and so less of a perceiving person. I do try to predict what's to come and make early decisions, but there are also times when I just let the time dictate the situation by itself. So, I'd have been much more satisfied if the bar was somewhere in the middle of the line.
