People tend to misinterpret arrogance for confidence, but if you think about it deeply, you'll notice that they hold two whole different meanings. They're similar, yet a lot different. Arrogance means to display one's superiority or being proud enough to consider oneself superior to others. Confidence on the other hand, is the feeling of being certain for something to happen. In other words, confidence means to have faith in something.
If you ask me, I'd go for a bit of arrogance and a lot more confidence. It's in our nature to possess both. Some express more arrogance than confidence, while the others do the opposite. But how much does these couple of qualities affect a person's life. Well, the answer is, a lot. People are judged based on these qualities and their personalities are set accordingly. The ones who are more arrogant are usually the ones hated or feared of. Not that they are bad human beings, but that's how most people tend to judge. I wouldn't put confidence on a different page though, as arrogance is more of being too confident while underestimating other's potential. Confident people are usually taken as the ones with high capabilities, and even if they're not, this one quality tends to make them look like they possess a lot more potential than they actually have.
Besides that, confidence leads you to your highest potential, as it makes you believe that you're fully capable of reaching your goal and it keeps you going. Where as, arrogance tend to make people think that they've already crossed the finish line, even though they're still half way short of it and they end up coming to a halt on their way to the finish line.
Therefore, it is vital for us to be confident, but not so much confident that we'd end up being arrogant instead. But like i said, it's in our nature to possess both arrogance and confidence, and sometimes, we cannot help but be arrogant. However, we should be smart and always express the right kind of quality in the right place and in the right time.
